Market Announces 2014 Entertainment Schedule
LAKE BLUFF (June 5, 2014) – After a yearlong celebration in honor of its 20th anniversary in 2013, the Lake Bluff Farmers’ Market today announced that its 21st year will kick off next Friday, June 13, 2014 at 7:00 a.m. on the Lake Bluff Village Green. The Lake Bluff Farmers’ Market will continue through October, every Friday except for the 4th of July. The Lake Bluff Farmers’ Market’s vendor list and entertainment schedule includes past favorites matched with new additions for 2014.
“We’re looking forward to another great year of bringing farm fresh produce and flowers, unique baked goods, tasty sweets, unique services and great entertainment to Lake Bluff each week,” said Gridley Swanton, market manager for the Lake Bluff Farmers’ Market. “The energy of last year’s 20th anniversary is still alive as we enter 2014 and we continue to adapt our programming and vendors to meet the needs of our dedicated customers.”
Overall, the Lake Bluff Farmers’ Market vendor mix for 2014 continues to represent a wide variety of produce, baked goods, flowers and a number of specialty products and services (olive oil, cooking sauces, knife sharpening, etc.) to accommodate the needs of the Market’s customers. The Market Committee is excited to welcome three new vendors this Summer that will further diversify the offerings each week. 2014’s new vendors include: Katic Breads (artisan/organic breads); Maggie’s Munchies (gourmet dog treats); and Windy City Pie Company.
The Lake Bluff Farmers’ Market Committee today also released the preliminary schedule of entertainment for the Market in 2014. In addition to live music from Terry Moran, Ken Hall and more at the Market each week, past event favorites like cooking demonstrations, the University of Illinois’ Master Gardeners and the famous Corn Roast will be back throughout the Summer. The Lake Bluff Farmers’ Market is again excited to partner with the Lake Bluff Public Library for a weekly, family-friend story time series. The Lake Bluff Library team will share story time at the Market from 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
“The Lake Bluff Public Library’s story time series helps us achieve one of our main secondary goals each week – creating a community-focused event that draws Lake Bluff residents of all ages to the Village Green each week to connect with friends and neighbors,” Swanton continued. “Together with our great music lineup and other attractions, the Lake Bluff Farmers’ Market is the place to be this Summer.”
The Lake Bluff Farmers’ Market was launched in 1993 to provide Lake Bluff residents access to farm fresh produce, flowers, baked goods, jams, and much, much more. Throughout the Market season, patrons will find accessible parking near the Central Business District at the Walnut Avenue Parking Lot, the Train Station Lot, and at Artesian Park.
